Toothy Long Boarder

Well today Kacen got his tooth pulled. Here is right before we went into the dentist. He has no idea what is coming to him. Being tied down in a straight-jacket, for real, mouth pried open, tooth yanked out! Yikes!
And here he is after...David After Dentist...Anyone? Anyone?
And this cute smile is what we have from now on out. He really did pretty well and seemed fine tonight, I hope it heals well and that he will be just this happy tomorrow when the Novocaine wears off.
He got to pick out two toys, one was a ball he enjoyed chewing on and rubbing it on his numb lips it was pretty funny.

And here is the nasty long tooth, yep they still give out the same treasure chest boxes they gave when I was a kid.
 And for your viewing enjoyment:
1. Kace with Ky on the long board, hey any wealthy viewers out there that want to contribute to my sons well being feel free to mail me a baby helmet and sports pads. Haha, well I guess he already has one tooth missing he needs a couple broken bones to round out the "rugged guy" look.
2. Kacen playing with the creepy bike, I didn't remember taking this video the other day, I really need to get it on video when it plays the creepy worn out carousel type music.
3. Just Ky and Kace doing their other crazy guy stuff.

Also tonight I had the best brownie of my life courtesy of my friend Amber, as soon as I get my hands on the recipe I will make it, document it, and post it for the world to see, I want everyone to be able to eat them. (ahh I hate it when I go into dramatic food blog writing, I am so anti that).

PS everyone I love that so many of you get to see what we are up and that you love us enough to care. I am so grateful for all of our family and friends you are all so great and so dear to us.

Is anybody out there?

Hello out there! Do any of you still read this blog that I never update? Yeah my bad.
Well here is a little up date.

July has been a good month, just super hot!
We have done a lot of playing outside, going to the park a lot and playing in the little swimming pool.
Kacen just playing outside.
He loves his skateboard. And I have to say Kace has the coolest dad, I didn't get my camera but probably will some day but Ky lets Kacen ride on his longboard with him down the hill and Kacen LOVES it.

Kyle found this super creepy tricycle toy that plays creepy music and just goes when you touch it. For any of my Daniel family that read this doesn't Kacen look like Max? I guess we know he is a Daniel.
Ky caught this cute photo tonight.
The next photo may be disturbing, I don't know if I mentioned but Kace chipped his tooth recently. Well the tooth the front one on the right in this picture died and will be removed tomorrow. I am so nervous for him, he will have to go his whole childhood toothless, bummer.
Here is another really crappy attempt at catching a glimpse of it too.
Well that is about all that we are up to. I will let you all know how the removal goes.

Lessons About Water and Cows

I just found this draft, don't know why I didn't post it but enjoy!
So the other day Kacen saw his Grandma watering her flowers and really wanted to use the sprinkler
It took him all of his effort just to squeeze the trigger. But eventually he got it.
After he got it working he wanted to play with the water at the same time.....
And that is when I felt it got pretty funny.

We also went to the park this week. Kacen LOVES to watch the other children here he is in a weird trance watching children on the swings, and here he is actually swinging...I think he liked watching the other kids more than swinging himself, haha. I just need to say this I THINK MY SON IS SOOO CUTE AND FUNNY!

Oh I just realized why I didn't post this, I never got the photos of the cow off my Father-in-laws phone, well maybe someday.

Crazy for Crazy Feta

I just made this like five minutes ago and loved it sooo much that I came down straight away to share it with you all. Please head over to How Sweet It Is and make her crazy feta, yumm. I spread that right onto some artisian bread from "Artisian Bread in Five Minutes a Day" and it was so good. Add a little roasted jalapeno at a time it gets hot fast so just try it to see how it goes. And had it on warm whole wheat pita bread, yumm. This will be one of my new favorite snacks. For this recipe you make roasted garlic, this was my first time making that and that was so yummy too. (ok so that was Sunday) Today (Monday) my hubby made fake Winger's Sticky Fingers, oh yumm I am in my happy place right now. The sauce texture was a little off but I think we will work the kinks out. I didn't take any food pics, should have but didn't, sorry just trust me they are both great and looked a lot like the ones from the sites.

The Beach

Kacen took his first trip to a ocean-side beach and this was my first time to an East-coast beach, it was pretty fun. Super humid but I love the ocean and swimming in it. But....I was super lame and only took five pictures, I hate having my camera out in the sand and there were WAY too many things to worry about other than pictures so here are the few that I took.

Kace the first half hour our first day, and Ky trying to prevent a sunscreen mess.
I didn't sunscreen around his eyes that first day because I didn't want to get the sunscreen too close and in his eyes, so he got pretty burnt around the eyes I felt awful. We had to run out and by tear free sunscreen and we covered him good the second day.

Our second day on Aseteague Island, they have wild ponies on the island, Ky and I took a moon lit stroll on the beach and saw a huge heard of them.

So here is Kacer following me down to the beach.

I honestly didn't take one picture of me or Kyle, how can I be so lame? I really need to be better.

French Toast Soufflé

French Toast Souffle is a yummy bread pudding dish with a cream cheese filling.

So first start with a loaf of french bread, or a nice Italian bread, haha do not french, for anyone who watched Master Chef last night I guess it was a good think I got the boot when I did, my french is definitely turning Italiano.
Back to work!
1 loaf french bread, I can't stand paying the crazy prices in the store so I make mine fresh using this trusted recipe from my friend Danielle. (what is up with blogger and how it switches my picture orientation?)
You need about 10 cups of bread cut into small 1 inch cubes. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray and put half of the cubes in the bottom of the pan.
Next, in a small bowl combine 1, 8 oz pkg of Cream Cheese and 1/2 C. of pure maple syrup, if you don't have the pure stuff add some extra maple flavoring if you have it. And also if you really dig cream cheese one and half this filling to make it extra yummy.
Pour cream mixture over the first half of the bread cubes.
In a large bowl combine 10 eggs, with 3/4 C. half and half, ok all I had was cream and it was Father's Day so I thought, "what the heck! Bring on the cream!" and I used cream instead.
Once again, the picture flipped on me but add in 1 1/2 C. milk.
Add 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp maple flavoring if you have it.
 And we're whisking, we're whisking.....
Stop. grate in fresh nutmeg, sorry I don't know how much, just as much as you would like, probably use about 1/4 tsp. bottled pre grated.

Also add in 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, or more to taste. I actually made two batches and in the second I added finely grated orange zest and that was pretty good.
Pour this over the gravity defining thanks to blogger....bread cube and filling.
Uh seriously why can't my pictures stay the right way!?!? Cover this baby up and put it in the fridge overnight.
Pull it out 30 minutes before you want to bake it. Preheat the oven to 375 then bake for 50 minutes until golden brown.
Sorry no plated shots, we just started eating right away. We served ours with fresh made strawberry syrup and maple syrup. It was really good but super filling a 9x13 pan will probably feed eight adults if not more.
