Name Prank

Man you know your life needs a little more entertainment when one of the funnest things you do all weekend is come up with a silly prank with your hubby to see if anyone catches on. Serious you thought we might actually name our kid Skyle? I can't believe no one called us out on that, haha, well not that anyone liked it, well not that we had a plethora of replies pouring in either. I guess in general most people probably just don't care what we name our kid, but thanks Emilie and Brit for letting me know you read this! And I liked both of your suggestions a lot, but Ky is pretty hooked on Skylar.

Posts to come this week: We found our chair fabric, think blue. And an honest overview of my experiences with my kid, he is just so strong willed. Hair cut?

Baby Names the Polls are Open

Alright since we are list makers we thought we will share the prospective names with you and get your opinions. But we may not even pick one off this list, we haven't narrowed it down too much yet. Anyway let us know which ones you like, and I guess if you must...the ones you don't like, but just know if you say you don't like one of them and then we pick it, we will openly know for our child's entire life that you don't like their name, haha.

We are probably going to use either Adell or Danielle for the middle name, so keep those in mind.

Addi
Skye
Adaline
Alex
Gabbi
Emlin
Alana
Shayla
Allie
Skyle
Austyn
Skylar

Alright that's it so far. The polls are open. Oh hey any suggestions are welcome, and no Micah Sharayray is not a valid suggestion.

Yard Sales and Fashion

Yard Sale Success.
Last weekend I had major yard sale fail which included me leaving a bike, a scooter, and two piles of clothes in the persons yard while I rushed Kacen to the car because he was throwing the tantrum of a century. But this weekend went much better, Ky was with me.
Ky and I found a fun summer project. We are on the hunt right now for the perfect fabric.
The chair was only $1
This chair too was only $1 and we use it to feed our child's poor habit/addiction to tv watching.
And lastly here is my look today.
Nurse at the doctors office: "Cute headband" really enthusiastically.
Ky: "You  look like a hippie...a cute hippie."
Oh and note the blue polish, it looked best with my mustard shirt I had on yesterday.

More Thoughts

The other day I was climbing into bed and sent Ky, who was at work, a nice lovey cheesy text. The next morning I got a text from my friend that was really strange, you know something along these lines "I love you too sugar bear." I was really confused and asked her about it, then she let me know that my text meant for Ky was sent to her. Ahhh how embarrassing, luckily it went to a close friend not someone else.

The best ending, well middle to my day too, is sitting down to some triple D, for those of you not in the know that is Diners Drive-ins and Dives. I love watching it. But I always eat while I watch it, that is not always good. Also who could really eat at one diner every day? Seems a little excessive.

My big sis is sorta sick right now, well pretty darn sick actually. When other people are suffering I suffer too. I can't help it, I have always been this way, but I am an emotionally invested person, oh yeah I'm pregnant too. My worry over her made me pretty much exhausted all day. I just love my family so much! And all I want is their well-being and happiness. I just wish I could be closer to them so in moments like this I could be there to help out. And hate feeling helpless to do more for her. Luckily she has a great husband and in-laws and other extended family near by too that are taking care of her.  Have mentioned before how great my sisters and mom are? Cuz they are just the best.

Anyone else notice that blogger changed over night? I hate it when things like this happen, but hopefully it will be easier to use.

I am excited to go to Time Out For Women tonight! I was gifted a ticket by a friend who's husband is ill right now, and send well wishes their way and lots of thanks for the gift.

I need to edit what I said earlier, the actually best ending of my day in sneaking into Kacen's room while he is asleep and snuggling him up close to me and just thinking about how much I love that guy. It is a good reminder that even though we have our struggles during the day he really is just a great little guy that needs love and guidance.

Random

I painted my nails a light blue, the first non-red/pink or black color to ever make it on my nails. I really like it, but I realized why I haven't painted my nails in over a year, it takes so  long to make it look good, two base coats and a top coat with a two year-old bidding for my attention is a mess. Blue all over my fingers, and of course his too, and three re-do's, and honestly this whole process made me ten minutes late to a doctors appointment.

So the doctors appointment. Some crazy bites or something showed up on my  neck. The doc gave me no definite answer but they are huge and itchy and red and weird, but.... they're getting better.

Any American Idol fans? Jennifer Lopez tonight humm...all I could think was left boob.

My kid hates brushing his teeth, well I don't think it is actually the tooth brushing it is just what it means is coming up, bed time. So he likes to throw amazing tantrums every night ahhh it is so exhausting.

My kid loves his blanket, one night it got tangled with his comforter and I was dead asleep at 4:00 am when he gently touched my hand and very politely and quietly said, "blanket?" It was cute, I found it and he went right back to bed.

Georgia Part Dos

The rest of our trip to Georgia was fantastic. Kacen loved being with my parents and sister and his cousins. !ithin the first couple of days he was warm enough with them that he snuggled right up with my mom and sister and loved on them. And by the end of the week he was constantly grabbing everyone's hands dragging them here or there.
And Kacen especially loved his cousins. They played all day, and they were so good about leading him here or there and entertaining him. Needless to say he loved having friends with him all day. And my niece and nephews are just so cute and such good kids.
One of Kacen's favorite activities there was riding his cousin's bikes down the drive way.
While we were there we had a pretty unique experience. We actually got to see Ian at the Atlanta airport on his way to Brazil. It is a long story but he only had 24 hour notice that he was leaving the Provo MTC (missionary training center) and going to the Brazil MTC. However he was waiting to get a copy of him immunizations and they couldn't guarantee that they would get to him on time but they would get to us in Georgia on time overnighted so we had to run them over to the airport.
While we were at the airport his grandparents and aunt and uncle took him to the park.
Kace with Grandpa Murphy and cousin Zach.
Playing with his aunt Micah.

Next up was the science museum.
The whole fam.
We saw dinosaurs, stars, rocks, rockets and earth movers.

And the funnest part was digging for fossils and panning for gems

And of course we celebrated Easter. We did the non-religious celebration on Saturday. My amazing sister Micah made a basket for Kacen too, she never leaves anyone out. I just love my sister. And my whole family. My mom took like a whole week off work just to be with us! And yeah they spoiled us.
Kacen didn't really care about the egg hunt, he mostly just wanted to play with the Buzz Lightyear gun.

Saturday afternoon we went to Stone Mountain, Georgia's number one attraction! Yep it is a giant stone mountain, the only mountain in Georgia, it has a this carving of three dudes on it, something about the civil war.
We had a bbq and did some rock climbing
Jk haha
Actually I attempted to hike up the mountain with Ky but didn't even make it half way. Weeelllll let me clarify, I could have made it, but I knew I would be exhausted all day if I did so I just took a nice long break while Ky, my hunk of a man, ran up and back down.
They have a super cool laser show after dark. We all had fun hanging out before the show, the kids loved playing on the grass and dancing to music.
And Sunday while I cooked dinner Micah, Warren and Ky took the kids out to feed the ducks.

I love this photo that Warren (my bro-in-law) caught of my guys, they are so cute.
We had a great stay and our drive home went pretty well but I am in no hurry to get in a car for a 13 hour drive again. Well unless it was to go back to see my family I would do that in a heart beat. We are so blessed to have the support of both our families in all we do, we love them all so much.
Thanks again Mom, Micah, Dad, Warren, Savannah, Justus and Zachy for the great Easter break!

Georgia Here we Come

This post is coming way late, and now it is really long.
Today we are leaving for Georgia. (False. This part was written Wednesday night)

The car is packed I'm ready to go, I'm standing here out side your door...well not really I am on the computer just waiting for Ky to get back home from getting new glasses, I hope he still looks hot.

I got all the snacks ready, homemade crusty bread, laughing cow cheese (which I used to think was a snack for the snobs until two weeks ago I had them at a friends and love them and at only $2.00 for eight wedges that isn't too bad for a sancky snack right?), sliced cheese, PB and J for K, pasta salad for when I am sick of snacks and need a meal (dressing on side don't want soggy noodles), chips, wheat thins, fruit snacks (the texture of these ones are nass-tay), bananas, grapes and oranges (Kacen's three fav fruits, well except he loves berries too), dried apple chips, juice boxes and animal crackers. What a long boring paragraph, haha.

I don't think I will go hungry but I will probably whine to Ky mid-way that I need real food, I hate snacky food for days at a time. Hopefully there will be easy access to a Panera when I get this feeling.

I can't wait to see my family, like so so so excited. (K, I can't lie, I am so excited for today that I am actually writing most of this last night, Thursday, because I can't sleep and I am anticipating packing all of these things up and just inserting pictures really quickly while Ky is at the docs. There now you know I am sham.) It has been a year and a half since I have seen a single relative of mine and I can not wait!

I called my sis Micah this afternoon because I realized that while I am there I really want a fried chicken and jello salad picnic at a park. I love the nostalgia of that, and we all know I  love me some fried chicken. I also love my sisters, like love them so much, they are my besties, and I fully intend to do a great post about them soon.
Wish us luck, 8 hours to West Virginia where we will stay with Ky's cousin, then rise and shine Saturday for 8 more hours to Hotlanta.

Haha well this didn't get posted when I anticipated it and now I am writing from Georgia, that 8 hour car ride ended up being 10.5 thanks to DC traffic. But thank heaven for technology our ride would have been way worse without a portable DVD player (loaned by a friend) and lots of DVD's loaned and donated by friends, I love my friends. But the ride was awful with my lack of sleep and that Ky was going on 24 hours of no sleep we were a pretty crazy bunch. It was great to see his cousin who is having a little boy in a couple of months and their other three kids too. I am so grateful for such great people in our lives who are willing to house us and help us out all the time.
Our second day wasn't so bad we had actually gotten some decent sleep. We passed this crazy place just over the border into South Carolina "South of the Border" it is like a mini-Mexico-tourist-amusement-park-arcade-trap.

Yesterday we went to the skate park with the kido's. They had a great time playing, however my one nephew did have a man-part injury the poor kido thought he was dying, and my niece had a radial distal fracture in her wrist, both of them came off jumps on their bikes in a really weird positions.

This morning my niece and nephew went to the doctor, for the break and supposed allergies, well nope the swollen eyes Justus had were because of pink eye. Geeze what a way to start off our vacation. But we are just exercising super hygienic practices and making the most of it. So we headed into down town Atalanta to go to the Centennial park water area. It was so hot so there was a TON of people, but the kids had fun, well Kacen and Zach didn't like playing in the water too much, but they still liked it.

I was so hot and tired after the park we went to Cold Stone and had delicious ice cream. It was a good day and we have some other fun things planned for the week but mostly a lot of hanging out, holiday crafts and cooking.
