Royal Wedding

Yeah, yeah I know you are all sick of "The Wedding." And I am not that into either, my knowledge of England and the Royals is quite limited to what TLC and Travel channel show. But my friend Amber hosted play group at her house and a bunch of us got together and ate scones and mini lemon tarts and wore cute hats and watched a recording of the events. It was really fun. Thanks Amber you are so great!

(the lighting was off I looked sooooo bad. Solution: switch to black and white)
My scones were really great actually plus I made homemade jam.

Oh and on another note, after watching the wedding I thought, "Why wasn't  I born into such privilege, why don't I have a life like that?" Then I had an overwhelming feeling that life is about sooo much more than money and privilege, it is about my family and becoming the best person I can be.
It's time to stop waiting for life to change and to change myself.

I am so grateful for what I have, for so many friends and family who enrich my life daily and who provide so much for us. Thank you. Wow this post went in a completely different direction than I intended.

Easter

Our Easter trip was good we did a lot of hanging out. And played a lot of Wii, for those of you who know Ian, here is a special treat of him singing Celine Dion.

Saturday we went to the Des Moines Science Center. There are a lot of fun things to do there and we always love this giant pin mold thing, here is Kacen next to his cut out.

You can also build rockets and launch them, Kyle got his the farthest of any of ours, here it is at the very end with the rocket stuck in the mesh.

Easter Sunday was so nice. It was great weather and Kacen got a cute new suit from his grandparents. Kyle's Oma came out from California. And it was soo great to see Chad, Amy, Lily and Ellie.

The kids had a great egg hunt, not that Kace understood what to do, after he got two eggs in his hands he was done.

Then the adults had an egg toss, with raw eggs
a boiled potato toss, with extra boiled potatoes
things escalate really quickly into weird activities with us
Oh and the boys found themselves in a plastic egg war resulting in a giant welt on Ian's stomach

It is about a 16 hour trip one way! On our way home around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning we stopped to use the restroom and I thought as I walked into the gas station, "I feel like the heroine in an action film where they get drugged by their hero and are finally allowed to wake from their stuppor to go to the bathroom." Then to top off my crazy drugged persona, as I was leaving the gas station the door I went in was a one way door but I didn't know that and I went to go out and there was no handle so I just stood there! I had no idea what to do! Finally the man working there said, "let me help you," I must have looked so helpless, and he opened the door for me. I was so embarrassing.

I'm Back

Ok after a little break, I'm back.
On a rare sunny day I got a couple pictures of Kacen.

Luckily we are getting for real family photos done soon, haha.

Kacen up dates:
Running
Yelling
usually "dada" or "mama"
Climbing
on the bed, on the coffee table, on the kitchen table
Can push a chair
pushes them everywhere to get up to where he wants to go
Dancing
anytime he hears music he stands up to dance (sorry it is sidewise)
And he reads with me
or I guess lets me read to him, we will finish one book and he gets up to get another

That's it for now, Ky and I are gonna watch a some Office reruns.

Taking A Break

Hey everyone I decided last night that I am taking a blogging break, so until further notice this blog won't have many juicy details about our lives. Thanks for reading and hopefully I can relax and get back to posting soon.

I love where I live

There are some things that I think are really fun about living in
Lancaster County Pennsylvania,
and this is one of them.
