Not So Little Anymore

For any of you that remember my tiny, skinny little guy, well he isn't so little any more. Only a couple of weeks until he turns 1. He has really started to fill out and he now feels heavy to me when I try to carry him around.

Kacen loves to mimic your behavior, a couple of things he does:
  • When someone yells or the dog barks he makes this really weird almost barking noise, it is pretty funny
  • He kisses you back, first he just smacked his lips together to make the sound, now he leans in to kiss you on the cheek, how precious
  • He likes to share his toys and food with you, mostly he just wants you to chew on the things he is chewing on, this is one of the more yucky things, haha but it is still cute
  • He knows how to hold the phone up to his ear and likes to hold it up your ear too
Some things I have learned about being a mom:
  • For some reason poop isn't so sick when it belongs to your cute little guy, haha it is still sick but just not so bad
  • Image isn't everything, I can walk around all day with goop on my shirt and not really care
  • I can pick boogy off his face with my hands and not even flinch
  • Last night Kacen was sick, really sick, and threw up repeatedly, well with getting bigger his puke isn't baby spit up any more. I realized that having throw up in my hair, on my glasses and in my eye didn't matter hardly at all when I was so worried about my babe. Well the puke in the eye really hurt and I had to wash that out immediately, but it wasn't until maybe 2 hours after the fact that I finally got in the shower to wash out my crusty puke hair.
  • Even after an exhausting day, one final game of "I'm gonna get ya," (I crawl around chasing Kacen saying, "I'm gonna get ya," and he laughs hysterically) and having sore knees is worth it to hear your son laugh his guts out.

Side note about getting old. I don't want to. I hope they will find the fountain of youth before I hit 60. The other day my sister-in-law and I were walking out of WallyWorld and saw this elderly lady in the parking lot looking rather confused. After talking to her we realized she had forgotten where she parked. It was freezing out side and she had been wondering around the parking lot for at least 10 minutes, Jess saw here earlier when she went out to our car to get something. We did help her find her car but man I just don't want to loose my memory. It really makes you want to live every moment the best you can and try hard to keep journals so you can remember all the great things about life.

In case you were wondering why he is sleeping in all of them. My kid is a wild child and when he finally crashes I just love it because he is so calm and cute. And not to mention trying to get a picture of him is so hard they all turn out blurry, (well I don't know much about photography and I am sure there is a way to stop this but my point-and-shoot method doesn't work too well) so these days sleeping Kacey is all I get.

New Blog: The Sisters Learn How

Hey everyone I just want you to have a heads up that me and my sister, K'Leena, are starting a new blog called, The Sisters Learn How, just click on that name to be redirected. You know everyone has "how to" blogs out there so we figured we would jump on the band wagon, but obviously ours will be better (wink). Things aren't quite in full swing just yet but my sister is doing some posts right now, I am so so SO busy for the next month or two, but when we get things really going we will be visiting people where they work and learning how to do trades from the professionals. A couple of things we have lined up to teach you are: wedding cake recipes, how to make sugar flowers, making custard from the best custard shop in DC, butchering a chicken and reupholstering furniture. So keep watching our blog and be patient while we work out the kinks. Also if you have anything you have always wanted to learn just tell us and we will see what we can do to get a post out there about it.
